Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, WORLD!

That last update was pretty strange, I admit, but now I may elaborate.

Somehow I have been strangely uneffected by jet lag. Aside from my extreme passing-outness last night, which I suspect was due to the large amount/quality of food that I ate for dinner, I am completely fine with being 6 hours ahead. I suspect it is somehow due to the surreal experience I had on the plane 2 nights ago: crammed into a small space being only able to sleep an hour here or there, watching Inception, watching the sky brighten very quickly as we moved towards the sun, effectively traveling through time.

Anyway, yesterday we got in, had a few hickups finding a cab, and when we were all set up, we met up with my sister and her boyfriend, and headed over to a pub, which my sister had made Christmas dinner reservations at a few months ago.

I have always heard some very particular things about British food. Specifically that it is bland and involves boiling meats until they are flavorless. This is not what I experienced last night, however. My sister had reserved a sort of 3 or 4 course meal that each of us had decided on months ago, and forgotten what we ordered.

I had some kind of soup, which I expect had a cheese base, a Mushroom Wellington, which is sort of a mass of cook mushrooms stuffed into a giant flaky shell (a bit like a hotpocket, but lets not go there), and a browney for dessert. But that's not all apparently! When the main courses came, they were accompanied by a massive bowl of assorted vegetables (carrots, parsnips and brussel sprouts), a heaping pile of potatoes, and 2 massive boats of gravy whose flavor I can only describe as - flavorful.  So far my stay in London really has been alot like my first night at Hogwarts in that in involved a lot of food. But that's it really, other than the accents. The similarities end there.

Not sure what I have planned for today, but since yesterday happened so fast, I didn't really have time for photos or videos. I will make sure to take a few today.

That's all for now.

Merry Christmas from London!
